Transition

Shirt: Zara here; Skirt: Zara here; Booties: Kohl’s here

Last week, Ben and I both had the day off so we ventured out to L.A. (about a 40 minute drive from the good ol’ O.C.) to try a new coffee shop called Bulletproof Coffee. We have made our own bulletproof coffee at home and were excited to try it! We each got a coffee and a super yummy paleo meal. If you’ve never tried bulletproof coffee, you should! It’s made by blending black coffee with butter and coconut oil. I know it sounds weird but I promise you it’s delish! You can try making your own at home with this recipe here! (The recipe calls for MCT oil, but you can use coconut oil instead!)

Afterwards we ventured around Venice, took these pictures and did some people watching. Walking around down there made me wish we lived closer to somewhere like that. There were literally places to take photos EVERYWHERE we turned. And all different types of places too!

All over Instagram (the newly updated one #canigetanamen!), I’m seeing people post about it being cold and fall and sweaters. Whelp. Ain’t happening yet here folks. It’s supposed to be a whopping 97 degrees again by the end of the week. Sooo, instead of changing my wardrobe pieces to jeans and sweaters, I’m just changing the colors I’m wearing. Wait, who am I kidding?! I honestly don’t really THINK about what I’m-gonna wear. I think I just naturally start gravitating towards more fall-ish colors. This top and skirt from Zara are the perfect transition pieces. I can totally see myself also pairing this skirt with booties and tights and this fun top with jeans. I love a good simple shirt that has details that make it stand out!

If you didn’t see on Instagram, I have a new found love for Zara. I always thought all their stuff was so expensive so I never went there. But I’ve been a few times in the past few months and have been pleasantly surprised! While they do have some expensive pieces, they also have plenty of reasonably priced items! Like this skirt and top. So if you haven’t yet because you were worried about the prices, I totally suggest giving them a try!

Ok, I could probably keep typing but that might be boring. 😛

I had my first pumpkin spice latte this weekend, and I bought a pumpkin candle. So maybe if I just turn the air on full blast and stay inside, I can convince myself fall is coming.

Happy Monday!

xoxo,

Christine

P.S. This braid is called a rope braid, and my blogger friend Kirsten has a tutorial on it here.
