COSTA RICA-SURFING IN TAMARINDO

DISCLAIMER: Contrary to what these photos might suggest, I am in no way, shape or form a “surfer”. Many thanks though for thinking otherwise. 😛

But when in Tamarindo you gotta at least try it. “Tamarindo has a deserved reputation as a surfer’s mecca. It offers a wide variety of surf breaks, beach, river-mouth and reef, so surfers of all abilities can relax with, or improve on, their skills.” Aka if you’ve only surfed a handful of times in your life, you should be fine. My brother taught me to surf shortly out of high school but I just never really pursued it any further. I have surfed a few times here and there, and so had Kate so we opted just to rent boards ourselves instead of taking lessons. There is just something so peaceful about being out in the water that made me wonder why I don’t surf more since we live so close to the beach. ( I actually texted Ben to say we need to buy surfboards and surf all summer so that when we go back to Costa Rica, we maybe kind look like we know what we’re doing. 😛 )

We both caught and rode a few waves, and we both also got taken down by the same number if not more. 😛 But it was #worthit. We rented our boards from Iguana Surf, and it was perfect because they are located right in front of the main beach. They let us stay out a little later than they were open because of the time we got there so that was really nice of them! They also offer lessons to any newbie surfers, and we were half wishing we had took them for the sole reason that the instructors had GoPros so we would have gotten some sweet pictures. Sadly Kate forgot her GoPro, and Ben’s got burned in a fire last summer!

Who else is on a major one piece swimsuit kick this year? I wore one pieces just as much as my two pieces! I’ve linked a bunch below. Boohoo has so many good ones, and they’re such good deals!

Have the best day!

xoxo,

Christine
