WE’RE HAVING A BABY!!!

WE’RE HAVING A BABY!!!

I can’t believe I’m actually typing that out finally! I’m pregnant! We’re going to have little baby me plus Ben. And we couldn’t be more excited! We can’t believe we’re going to be PARENTS. It’s so crazy but so flipping exciting!

It’s funny because I always thought that when I finally got to post that I was pregnant, I would feel like I’d been keeping this huge secret or lying to you guys because maybe someone would suspect that I was pregnant, but I actually just feel like it’s the perfect timing, and I didn’t feel like I was really hiding anything at any point. So if you were one of the few who had a “feeling”, props to you. πŸ˜›

We found out eight weeks ago that I was pregnant, and as of this weekend, I am twelve weeks along and due in May of 2019. Our cute little nugget is as big as a plum already, and it’s crazy how much he/she is growing everyday!

I’m sure you all will have a bunch of questions that I will answer in a separate post but just want to fill you in on a few things about if we were trying, how we found out, and how things are going so far!

In August, when we were in Hawaii, we were about a month or two out from when we were “planning” to start trying. The second day there, we sort of just looked at each other and were like, “I mean do you care?” And we both decided what the heck, what’s a month early. I happened to be ovulating at the time but I was convinced there was no way we would get pregnant that fast. πŸ˜› Fast forward to the next two weeks before I could possibly know, and the whole time Ben was convinced I was pregnant. I kept saying no I don’t think so, I just feel like I do when I’m going to start my period! But he kept insisting. We ordered a few tests on Amazon “just in case”, and a day after I was supposed to have started my period, they were delivered. We were heading out to dinner, and I casually mentioned to Ben, “Oh those tests came”, honestly without any real intention of taking one right then. Yes, I was a day late but some months varied here and there, and I’d be a day early or a day or two later than what my app said. Ben was like what NO, you’re taking this right now so I did, still sure there was no way it would be positive.

Now let me rewind a minute. I have always imagined finding out you’re pregnant to be this cute, amazing romantic moment where you both cry and hold each other and jump up and down and feel all the things. I mean, you’ve seen THOSE videos. Heart eyes. Well yeah. That wasn’t our story. I peed on that stick, and we flipped it over while my Type A husband turned on the two-minute timer to insure we were getting the most accurate results. πŸ˜› I really didn’t expect to see a thing other than one little line indicating I wasn’t pregnant but when we flipped it over there was the faintest second line. We literally just stared at each other in disbelief and shock. Wait WHAT?!!! We’re having a BABY?!?!

And so I proceeded to take two more tests just to be sure. And we spent the next hour or so just staring at each other. It was so funny because that was the moment I imagined being so romantic, and instead, we just started at each other so shocked that it had happened that fast. I kept saying that I felt like were were supposed to make out and laugh and cry and hold each other but we didn’t. We mostly just stood there speechless. πŸ˜›

We did have a more romantic moment a few hours later, after it had sunk in a little, where we held each other and cried and prayed and celebrated the new life we had made together. Seriously so amazed at God’s good good gift to us.

I’ll give you the more in depth update in another post all about my first trimester but so far we have had two doctor appointments, and this week we get to hear the heartbeat!

WE ARE SO THANKFUL AND HAPPY AND EXCITED. Thank you all for sharing with us!

P.S. Don’t worry. More coming ASAP! πŸ˜› (If you have any specific questions you would like me to answer, leave a comment on this post or send me a DM on Instagram.)

xx,

Christine
